Reverend Mary Ramerman
My name is Rev. Mary. I am the Pastor of Spiritus Christi Church under Jesus Christ, who is our Senior Pastor. I have always worked in ministry and was thrilled to be ordained a priest in 2001. I am passionate about Spiritus Christi, the work we do through our outreaches, and about growing spiritually together. A favorite part of my work is sharing spiritual moments with people, such as a wedding, a health crisis, or a reconciliation with God or others. I also enjoy sharing Christmas mass and holidays with others. My favorite place to pray is by the water; a lake, the ocean, or a fishing stream. In my personal life, my favorite activities include spending time with my family, eating apple pie, listening to James Taylor, gardening, and canoeing.

My name is Father Jim Callan. At Spiritus Christi, I celebrate eucharist, preach, counsel, visit the sick, lead services in Elmira & Buffalo, perform weddings & funerals, help administrate the parish, and oversee the GLBT ministry, Chiapas, and the local outreaches. I have been a priest since 1974 and I LOVE IT! I love to tell people about the loving kindness of God and Jesus & make God accessible to people without fear so they can fully use their gifts to build the kind of world God dreamed it would be. In my spare time, I play the piano, write books, and help produce parish CD’s and DVD’s. My favorite food is late night linguini with clam sauce, and my favorite place to pray is in my back room with a candle.

In 2007, I married my best friend Siobhan and love sharing my life with her and our two amazing children, Natalie and Callan. I am also so happy that we get to share our love for ministry while working with children and teens together! We enjoy walking with our Boxer, “Stella,” cycling, walking, watching movies, retreats, camping, and spending time with our families. My absolute favorite thing to do is to cook. I have a very large family, and I would not have it any other way. In my spare time, I love cycling and I enjoy photography very much. My favorite food is spaghetti and meatballs with too much cheese... my mother’s sauce, of course!!!
Sunday School Coordinator
My name is Bridget McLaughlin and I have been the Sunday School Coordinator since February 2013. I have felt God’s presence since as early as I can remember and am forever grateful for how my love for God has shaped and impacted my life. How blessed I feel to have been provided with the opportunity to support our amazing families and teachers as I consider the plans for each week. Our classes provide a safe and nurturing place to discuss God and Jesus’s teachings, allowing us a time to reflect on the importance of the values we hold dear to our hearts. In a world where a multitude of messages are being absorbed by our children each day, I feel the time we have with these sweet children is of the highest importance as we help them sort through it all. Spiritus Christi continues to be a beacon of light to all who want to be a part. Its commitment to all and its open door policy make this one unique community where people are loved, supported, included, and appreciated. We want all this and more for the children we serve.

My name is Sr. Margie. I am the Director of the Grace of God Recovery House. I love experiencing the miracles of God’s healing in my life and the lives of people in recovery. My work at Grace of God is to be a loving presence and messenger of hope to those struggling with recovery from addictions. I love living, working and worshiping in the city. It’s great to look out my window and see “all God’s children” going about their daily lives. We have a great city, we have a great God! My favorite place to pray is on the woods by a creek. Director, Prison Ministry
My name is Jim Smith. My work at Spiritus Christi is to plan, organize, direct and coordinate the operations of the Spiritus Christi Prison Outreach. My work in the prison ministry is an expression of my faith. I feel so fortunate to have been called to work that requires me to spend time in the depths of my being where I am in touch with God. To be around men and women who so courageously work to change their lives and heal from deep wounds inspires me to work on my own life. Years ago I came to Corpus Christi seeking fellowship, support and guidance, as I desired to live my newfound Christianity. I found that people were not only preaching the gospel but were living the gospel. I knew this was the place for me. I was hoping and praying that God would hear my prayer and guide me in my life’s course. God answered my prayer through a meaningful vocation and exciting opportunity at the Prison Outreach. Early on I meet Julie Augsbury at a church meeting, she became my boss and latter my wife. We have three beautiful, young adult children, Hannah, Nathan, and Rachel. Spiritus Christi is my spiritual home where I am continually inspired and renewed.
Director, Mental Health Center
585-325-1180 ext 114
I was introduced to the amazing Spiritus Christi community in 2006 when I was hired. I have worked in the Behavioral Health field for over 30 years but had never been in a work setting where ALL my co-workers had such an upbeat, positive morale and dedicated commitment to provide non-judgmental services. What a privilege it is to provide access to mental health care to folks who would otherwise not be able to afford it. It is so gratifying to know our mental health program fills this need in the community. I live in a log home on the edge of my parents’ dairy farm. My family all lives close by, including my only child Dan, his wife Jaimie and my granddaughter Kendall who I cherish. I love being outdoors, caring for a large lawn and perennials then relaxing in the midst of it with a good book! Thursday night mass is a favorite part of my week. The homilies inspire me and the Folk Choir music speaks to me. What a joy to be part of Spiritus Christi!
Community Outreach Worker, Mental Health Center
My name is Eileen Hurley. and I am the Urban Youth Outreach Coordinator at Spiritus Chrsiti Mental Health Center. I highly value being in a position to play a part in redressing social inequalities. My work in the Mental Health Center affords me this opportunity, for which I am grateful. Our community outreach position was developed to further extend our reach to those in the Rochester community for whom access to health care is limited by social, cultural or economic and health insurance status. Currently my work is centered among 16-18 year old males incarcerated at the Monroe County Jail. I am available to the young men and their families for counseling and psychosocial support.

My name is Amy Durkee. I am passionate about my position in the Mental Health Center because I like being a part of a place where people are valued for who they are, not what they do or have. I like being a part of a place that offers a nonjudgemental, supportive environment for people to heal and grow. I enjoy hiking, reading, gardening, cooking, music (especially live!), and spending time with my family.

Music Director, Spirit Singers
Hi, my name is Yunjin Audrey Kim and I am the Music Director for Spirit Singers. I am here to serve God and you through music. Please come join us!
My name is Roxanne Ziegler and I play the harp! When I first came to Spiritus, I heard Fr Jim recite a short poem about a flute drawing breath from the lips of God. I altered the poem to fit me: "I am an Aeolian harp. I am set into motion by the breath of God. God's song is my song." That has become my purpose. I am so happy to help spread God's song not only to our church congregation as we worship, but to assist people experiencing significant moments, whether it be celebrating, healing or transitioning into the next life. I so enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for the harp with my students and guiding them on their personal explorations of this very special instrument. God's great outdoor cathedral is a constant source of inspiration and rejuvenation for me. When I am not behind the harp, I'm either bicycling, kayaking, hiking, cross country skiing or spending time with my rescue dog, Keeper.
