Sunday, October 20th, 11 am: RIVERWALK!
This annual awesome event is a fabulous, family-friendly way to have a blast while you help us raise funds to support mental health care for those in need!
We start the day in Celebration Hall at Spiritus — enjoy some coffee and donuts, then we will walk! Afterwards, enjoy a free luncheon filled with HOMEMADE soups, pizza, veggie trays, pulled pork and more! And KIDS! Wear you Halloween costumes for a fun costume parade, and enjoy our free crafts and coloring fun!
All funds raised from the walk will help provide mental healthcare, at NO COST, for those who are under- or uninsured. Among the many barriers to receiving mental health care, cost is one of the biggest. Last year, the Center helped 300 people (accounting for over 2,900 appointments and over 100 referrals to other places in the community where they could get the help they needed.)
Joining us and helping us raise awareness and funds is easy!

SPOTLIGHT STORY: A TRIP TO THE WHITE HOUSE!
For the past 2 years, through the community outreach work of Eileen Hurley, the Spiritus Christi Mental Health Center has partnered with the Rochester Spinal Association (RSA) to offer services to gun violence survivors who sustained spinal cord injuries from their gunshot wounds. Young black men are disproportionately affected by these gunshot injuries that render them paraplegic or quadriplegic. Last week, Chris Hilderbrant, parishioner and executive director of RSA, was honored to be one of about 150 people present when President Biden signed an executive order for a series of initiatives to reduce gun violence in our nation.
