One thing I do to have a green Christmas is I don’t use wrapping paper. I wrap my gifts but not in paper. I use cloth bags that I reuse year after year. I also have some pieces of seasonal material that I’ll wrap around a gift and tie with reusable high quality ribbon. You don’t need any tape either and the packages look wonderfully festive.
Another thing I use are decorative boxes. Each box is beautiful and has a holiday scene on it. I tie a ribbon around it and there is absolutely no need for wrapping paper. My family knows me and my passion for the environment so they understand that I take the boxes back and reuse them from year to year.
Another way I’ll sometimes wrap a gift is in a Wegman’s reusable grocery bag. My adult children really like those bags so I know they will get used again and again throughout the year.
What are some other ideas for being green at Christmas time?
