I am constantly mesmerized by mother nature as she hypnotizes me time and time again into a world of love and miracles. The living world seems to present a different love story every day.
This morning opens like a Christmas present, full of surprises, as Mother Earth sheds the darkness into daylight. Creation seems to capture all I am longing for… love, hope, mystery, strength, and beauty. I wait patiently to see what nature has unwrapped. The intermittent clouds are becoming visible. The dancing shadows of tree branches are taking the stage like they are getting ready for a happy and whimsical play. The skinny, barren branches of December in NY remind me of a ballet dancer getting ready to perform. My excitement continues to rise as the curtain of daylight opens. The clouds are starting to billow, as the wind whisks them together. The many sounds of nature, howl in different tones through the trees. Love continues to swell.
I am not one for ballets, and yet, the natural world is captivating me into magical ways of watching and listening, to a one-of-a-kind day of jubilation. The sun peeks out and highlights the brilliant beauty of this day. High winds and snow are forecasted for today. Mother Nature seems pleased with the news, as she dances in the wind oh so joyfully, shedding all the decay, making room for new life. Her creativity takes out the bad and brings in the good, awakening hope for a better world.
Christmas is almost here, and the cosmos seems to be doing a dress rehearsal for the big day, Christ’s birthday. My impatience wants to see how this story ends. Yet, my heart and soul want it to never end, but to keep bestowing all the goodness that peaks when Christ is born.
Jesus in a manger, outside in a cold stable is the miracle of Christmas. Nature’s creatures are huddling together to keep him warm, as He is oh so cherished. This is truly the best love story on earth.

Kathy, thank you for sharing your ‘thought provoking’ words-such a great story,I know I need to be more aware of the benefits of slowing down and appreciating the beauty of all that is around us.
