The Small Christian Community (SCC) movement began soon after the Second Vatican Council as is a model of "being church" that is reminiscent of the early new testament house churches. They sought to be small circles of disciples committed to living a gospel-based witness in the world. Here at Spiritus, we continue to support SCC's and seek to help them grow and flourish. During this gathering, we will reflect on the history of SCC's (in the wider church and here at Spiritus), explore the elements of SCC's and help people think about how to convene and facilitate scripture-based reflection in these contexts.
