If I Were to Write a Letter to God, What Would I Say?

If I Were to Write a Letter to God, What Would I Say?

Dear God,

I saw you in the store yesterday, but I was in a hurry, so did not take the time to help you with your groceries.

Yes, it was me at the gas station, but I thought you were no one I knew, so I looked the other way.

I know you told me many times, not to be afraid and that you are always with me, but you looked different and that scared me.

It reminded me of when you told Peter to get out of the boat and walk on water to you.

He started out fine until he looked down and then was afraid and started to sink.

I am sorry fear got the better of us.

When I saw the beautiful sunrise this morning while walking with my dog, I thought of you and meant to say hi.

I heard you saying good morning when I got up, but I was too sleepy to respond.

I find I am writing to you now to say I am sorry for not acknowledging you more in my life.

I hope you will forgive me for not spending more time with you.

I am asking you to help me slow down and focus on all that you have so graciously given me.

Nature is abundant with you and your love. Humankind is radiating with you, if only I would take the time to look at all your beautiful faces.

I am sorry I get afraid and forget that you are always with me. Help me to be more alert and understanding of things and people that I think are different than me.

I know we are not. We are all the same inside. Please help me to grow my faith in you, so I can walk on water one day without sinking.

I do love you with all that I am. Sometimes, I forget that you are always with me and not to be afraid. Thanks, God, for not being mad at me.

Thank you, God, for creating me, loving me, and taking such good care of me.

I will work hard to do better with the rest of my stay here on earth.

I look forward to meeting You at your house, and hopefully, we can walk hand in hand on the beaches in heaven.

Love,

One of your sheep, Kathy

Wonderful story, one that I think we should all reflect on and maybe take the time to get in touch with the times we may have turned our heads or walked away. Thanks for sharing this, it gets me thinking…
