Like a lamb in the wilderness, I have often strayed and wandered far from your word. Yet each time I returned to the fold, the gate was always open, the door was always unlocked. I humble myself before you, God, grateful that you have never forgotten nor abandoned me, always welcoming my returning with forgiveness, mercy, and grace. May my words and my actions today be pleasing to you and reflect in some small way my gratitude, and give witness and affirmation for your everlasting love. Relieve me of my sense of self, that I may go forth in service to others, seeking always to do your will. Although I may not always get it right, know that my intention is always to try. I am yours, God, put me where you need me to be.
