God our father, please help guide our eyes in your direction. Many have asked exactly where it is that our help comes from. Our answer to that question is and should be from you, God, who made all things possible. You alone hold the power and resilience to break these chains of addiction as well to break down the bars of imprisonment.
God, release those who suffer from the bondage of drugs and alcohol. Return us to our family, friends and loved ones. Restore what was stolen from us all, due to this stronghold in which we have allowed ourselves to endure. That we’ve allowed to consume our beings. Although I know that alone, I do not have the strength, through Jesus, I can do anything.
God, give me the strength to turn away from the very things that have brought me low, and help me to turn to turn my eyes toward heaven.
Father, our visions have been clouded, our judgments as well. Wipe away the fog in our minds and let us clearly see the exact nature and deception of the enemy. The enemy has but one purpose, one goal, and that is to kill and destroy.
Lord, supply me clarity in our judgment to see through the lies. Allow us the vision to see who we truly are, in you. How do you see us? Help us to know your everlasting, unconditional, and infinite love. Please allow nothing but a crystal-clear vision of who we are to you, and the knowledge of your great love satisfy any of our selfish, sinful, and/or lustful desires.
God, we need your help. We cannot stop these desires on our own. We need your strength in everything we do. You promise always to be nearby. Do not stray too far from us. You alone, are our strength. Come quickly to help us. You promise to forgive sins through Jesus. Forgive us of the things we have done, said, and/or thought under the spell of addiction. Forgive us of our sins in which led us astray from your way, to go our own way.
Father, pull us from this pit that we’ve allowed ourselves to fall into, and place our feet on the path that leads to you. Thank you, Father, for protecting us from the mortal harm of this world. Our families as well. Thank you for allowing me to receive the grace that has led me to seeking you and your love and acceptance. Thank you for the healing to come. Thank you for being a Father of second chances, giving grace when it is needed the most. Thank you for hearing my prayer, for this me crying out to you, as your child.
Amen
