Friday, May 1
I love May! Even though the entire planet is in the midst of a global pandemic, it can’t hold back the spring. Spring is the breath of creation: the life force that keeps the planets circling, the tides rising, the leaves budding, and babies arriving. It is a time of early sunrises, new beginnings, fresh ideas, breathless arrivals, and happy faces. And it is the perfect time of year to pause and let God refuel us.
In May, I want time to slow down and be aware of the moments I have. If I move too quickly or busy myself with too many projects, I will miss the unfolding of the tulips and the migration of the monarch butterflies. If I keep my head buried in my cell phone and laptop, I will not notice the warmth of the sun or the shooting stars at night. If I close my eyes to listen to the worries that crowd my mind, I will not be awake to smile at the cardinal who lands on the tree branch or the fawn nibbling at my hostas.
It is for those reasons that I love to have morning meditations in May. It takes only a few minutes each morning to let God infuse me with an energy and peace that will transform my day to come. I will be writing one meditation every day this month. I hope they help transform your mornings; I know writing them will transform mine.
Each weekday, I’ll leave a post. In it, you will find a meditation. They will come from God, Mary, Jesus, and other spiritual guides. Many of these will include messages received in prayer by Brian O’Neill. Brian received these messages in daily meditations over a period of three years. Brian will also be writing these posts and adding his reflections. We will include a recording of the meditation which you can listen to. You can also read it slowly, focusing on each word and its meaning for you. We encourage you to add your comments below. Together, we will all guide each other in prayer and in listening to what God would have us learn during this time. There is no doubt that God will be with us…it takes only the tiniest amount of desire on our part to connect with God for God to respond in an instant. God will be speaking to us, and our hearts will be listening.
This is the first time Brian and I have written a blog on this website, and I am positive there will be many things we will be learning as we do this! Even though we have a plan, I suspect it may evolve into something different as the days pass. Let’s write together and have fun seeing where it goes. Your reflections and feedback will be part of making it meaningful for everyone.
Here’s today’s meditation. What is God saying to you?

Thank you, for this. Pause and be fueled is what I need to hear. I too love witnessing the coming of Spring. I hope to enjoy every bud blossoming and every bird chirping.

Thank you Mary and Brian. On this first day of May, filled with divine energy from Earth, revered across cultures and time for its pregnant portents, together as a community we celebrate the gift of Life within our bodies and hearts and minds, and the souls of our experience of being alive on this planet and at This time. One with all life forms around this majestic planet, rooted on this precious rock, we celebrate the Divine Presence in the Cosmos of unending praise to our Loving Mystery. Thank you so much for calling us to Pause and Be Fueled, to be open to receiving all the way in and through us the Divine radiance of infinite Love from God, Jesus and Mary and all our spiritual guides. Praise to our One Source, Center and Destiny, “as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Thank you for this post and the meditation. I get so much out of reading and responding, especially in matters of spirituality. It is a form of prayer in which internal and external connection can be made and shared, and I am so excited to to participate! May is special month for my family–it is my older son’s birthday (he turns 28), my daughter’s birthday (she turns 14), my birthday (I turn 53), my wedding anniversary (25th), and, of course Mother’s Day! I have to admit that I have been looking forward to experiencing this month in a quieter, deeper way, and I’m so grateful that a month of these posts will begin the days of this special month.

Mary @ Brian, I couldn’t wait for the blog to start. Thank you for the encouraging words Brian and thank you Mary for speaking them. You have such a calming voice and it’s so much better to listen than to read myself. God bless both of you. 🙏. Kathy. Heaton

We have a pair of Carolina Wrens nesting in our garage. They are nesting on the shelves where we store our paper towels and toilet paper. I sent JoAnne Behr a picture of the nest. She said, “How ironic. You can’t hold back the spring.”

I will be looking for this every day. I also love May as my birthday is Monday. Mothers Day this year is the 7 Anniversary of my husband’s death. It is my daughter’s birthday on the 25 and my son in law’s on the 28. It also would have been my 50th wedding anniversary on the 30th.
But this year I just have found out my daughter Debbi’s cancer is back. She has had it off and on for 10 years. She starts Chemo on Momday on my birthday.
I hope God’s gives us some insight to this. My daughter amazes me all the time. Like she has made over 300 masks.

Joann, Thank you for sharing how important May is to you. Debbi is amazing – she lives life to the fullest even as she deals with cancer. She inspires me!

Thank you, Mary and Brian. Pausing to listen to the birds, the rain, the wind and allowing God’s creation to refuel us to go out and share His LOVE with JOY. Thank you!

May is a beautiful month, and these blogs will make it even more beautiful for us. Thanks to Mary and Brian.

Explored a new stream today nearby. Blew up the raft, tied on the bike. And drifted off on fast semi flooded waters. Huge forest floors filled with a carpet of blue bells. Massive yellow areas of other flowers as the water receded. Earlier eagles at Hemlock. Yesterday watched an osprey flying witha fish, hassled by two eagles, it dropped the fish and it was caught in the air by the eagle. Amazing. Paddled next to a beaver until he tired of me and slapped his tail in disapproval and dove. And the moon was in half. Love May. Thanks for deepening all this Mary and Brian.

Love May. May 1. Two eagles harassing an osprey with fish flying (osprey was flying, not the fish). Osprey drops fish, eagles catch it in the air. Amazing. Later in day a free few hours. Rain has pumped all the creeks, grab my packraft and bike to head to creek I drive over everyday but have never explored. Pass vast areas under trees filled with Blue Bell flowers. Mixed with large areas of yellow flowers. What a treasure and it is so close and I never knew it. Love how the reflections deepen what I experienced today. Thanks.

Seek, journey, pause. I grow within your heart as you seek my heart. I work in a hospital oncology center. When this virus started, the fear grew- would I get it, would the care providers and individuals get it. The fear fueled the need and ability to pause; to seek and journey past the fear; to have trust in my God to give peace. And then to share this peace. The pause has been a gift to fuel and refuel. Thank you Mary and Brian. It seems this Spring, the the new greens of trees, the flowers’s colors are more vivid and the spring peers are singing louder. Again thank you for the pause. Looking forward to this blog.

Thank you both for this blog. I’ve never actually done a blog before so this is a new experience for me. I feel blessed to be on this journey with all of you.
