My name is Mark Potter and I am the Director of the Senior High Youth Ministry and I also work in the Spiritus Christi Mental Health Center as the Associate Administrator. I love my work at Spiritus because I have a passion to guide and counsel teens and children. With so much hurt in the world, my work inspires me to empower young people to make a difference in the world around them. After working on the bachelor’s of psychology, I also found a passion for the mental health field. In 2007, I married my best friend Siobhan and love sharing my life with her and our two amazing children, Natalie and Callan. I am also so happy that we get to share our love for ministry while working with children and teens together! I enjoy cycling, walking, watching movies, leading and attending retreats, exploring the Adirondacks, and spending time with my family. My absolute favorite thing to do is to cook. I have a very large family, and I would not have it any other way. While it sounds great to say that I teach the teens and children of our parish, it is also a blessing in my life that I get to learn from them. Children and teens can teach us so much about how to fill our world with love and compassion. In the mental health center I have the sincere privilege of helping the marginalized realize that they can get the help they need regardless of what any system tells them. Everyone deserves to be heard and deserves to have access to the mental health system, with or without insurance.
