My role is Director of the All Church Choir and Musical Director for the band.
I have been here at the church for 19 years. Since the pandemic I have added the band for consistency for all of the Sunday services. I also coordinated with Kathy Welch, Daniel Brottman and other musical staff members, to create a collaboration between the (former) Spirit Singers and the (former) Gospel choir that resulted in our new All Church Choir, which offers a variety of music for our parishioners.
I have a Liberal Arts Degree from MCC. I have been a musician in the Rochester area for over 40 years. I have played organ and piano in church for all of those years. I am currently the Minister of Music at the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist church for a total of 20 years. I am an adjunct Professor of Music at SUNY Brockport for 14 years. I am on the Board of Directors of the Rochester Music Hall of Fame.Lastly I am program director and radio personality for 103.9 WDKX “ Sunday Morning Gospel” for 19 years. Music has always and will always be my calling for ministry.
Personally my hobbies are still music based. I love to write and produce as well as play. I have 3 daughters Mercedees, ( yes spelled like that…. her mom did that) Ce’Asia and Aaliyah. They are 28, 20, and 16 respectively. and they are all handful in each of their own way. Church and my relationship with the Lord has always been the center of my life.
