Description
You Can Enjoy Great Coffee While Supporting Our Growers And Our Ministry!
THE COFFEE: Gourmet Dark Roast: The higher the roast, the more body and intensity the coffee acquires. It’s stronger with some chocolatey notes. The flavor in your cup is balanced – outstanding acidity with a sweet body. And it’s fair trade and organically grown.
THE GROWERS: The “Producers’ Union Maya Vinic” is a cooperative of some 500 indigenous coffee farming families located in 38 highland communities in the municipalities of Chenalhó, Pantelhó and Chalchihuitán, in Chiapas, Mexico. Inspired by the traditions of their ancestors, Maya Vinic operates with a respect for local culture, a reverence for Mother Earth and a commitment to traditional forms of self-government.
THE MINISTRY: Maya Vinic springs from “Las Abejas” – a network of Liberation Theology catechists in the region. They offer a consistently high-quality coffee, raised with care and respect for their natural resources. The co-op offers their producer-members regular educational and capacity-building activities focused on building sustainable farming techniques and a strong social economy.
