Sent on a Mission Trip
Every year, our youth go on their summer mission trip. They’ve gone to Buffalo, Syracuse, Ohio, New York City. This year, we didn’t quite know how things were going to stand with the pandemic and what that would mean for things like accommodations and travel, so both 2021 mission trips are taking place here in Rochester. In 1858, two steam powered ships met in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, after one had left north America and the other western Europe. Halfway across the Atlantic, they connected two ends of a 2,500 mile long cable together that they towed from their own shores. Making history, the cable linked together the European and North American continents by telegraph.
