Family Liturgy
Siobhan Potter closes out the religious education year by reminding us the importance of focusing in on that one voice; Jesus. She goes on to explain that even though the children and teens are not here in their classrooms and they were unable to finish the year together, they continue to follow Jesus’ voice by showing love and spreading joy to others in many ways.
Mother Earth Liturgy
We only have one Earth. Rev Mary preaches about the importance of our planet and who we are here and the impact we make. We must see what is before us and to prepare ourselves for its’ future.
A Space for Grief and Believing
In a time where many are feeling isolated, anxious and depressed, Father Jim preaches about the value of making space to be open to our grief. The scripture tells us Jesus says he is with us and though we face uncertainty, we must have faith to believe even though we may not see.
Easter Sunday
Rev Myra preaches about how we may think that the dark times will last and we don’t know when the light will come, but if we take the time to walk in the darkness, new life with be breathed into us again.
Good Friday
Mark Potter preaches about Good Friday and the deep meaning that we may think; like Jesus on Good Friday dying on the cross we have nothing left to give, there is always something more that God knows you have in you to give the world.
Holy Thursday
Rev Mary speaks about the deep symbolism of Jesus washing his disciples feet on Holy Thursday. This night is all about actions Jesus takes and the message that he wants the disciples to take with them after he is gone and the one we are called to live by.
Palm Sunday Mass
Fr. Jim speaks about how Palm Sunday is the beginning of a week of ups and downs at the end of Jesus’ life. Our world now is facing a time of this too and we now face “the dark night of the soul” and the lessons we will ultimately learn from it.
Love Prevails – By Mike Boucher
Mike Boucher shares that we may be feeling disoriented these days and have lost out on life as we have known it. We feel a sense of fear, grief and unknown, but through love and hope we will rise and life will continue.
Open Your Eyes and See God – By Rev. Mary
Rev Mary shares that through this challenging time, things change everyday and it is important for us to see that we can be blinded by things we want to do during this time and the feelings that come with it. The scripture calls us to recognize that God is right here and will be here to open our eyes and recognize the beauty within this time.
Moving Through Times of Fear – By Rev. Myra Brown
Rev Myra speaks about through trying times we are faced with, we should continue to look out for others. Even during this time of fear, we should lean on our faith even more and how we can fully trust in God.
Prison Outreach Homily – 40th Anniversary
Jim Smith speaks on Spiritus’ 40th Anniversary of the Prison Ministry and his work with this outreach. He shares about it’s rich history and the strong impact it has had on the women and men in the program and our church as a whole.
