Speaking From The Heart

SPEAKING FROM THE HEART A coffee hour event where refugees are invited to converse, over snacks and beverages, with Americans who are open to them and supportive of their efforts to express themselves in English. All are welcome to participate, regardless of their religious affiliation or lack thereof. The goals of Speaking from the Heart include:

• Dismantling the social and linguistic isolation surrounding many refugees
• Helping refugees to practice English conversation
• Extending friendship to one another across linguistic, cultural and socio-economic barriers
• Educating each other and creating mutual understanding through conversation and interaction
